Applicant Screener

A template agent that reads applications where they arrive, scores them against your criteria, and stages the shortlist.

Scores applicants against the role before you open the folder. The Applicant Screener template agent reads applications where they land, scores each against criteria you agreed, and keeps a shortlist you can check line by line.

Steps

  1. Start it. Open Agents, choose Templates, and select Use it on Applicant Screener.
  2. Answer the interview. Which role, where applications arrive (a mailbox, a Drive folder, a form that writes to a Database), what the must-haves and nice-to-haves are, how to weight them, and who decides. It writes the criteria into its instructions so every applicant is scored the same way.
  3. Score one batch. Ask: "Score this week's applicants." For each one it shows the score, the evidence for each criterion with a quote from the CV or cover letter, and the gaps. Disagree with one and it adjusts the weights or asks which rule it misread.
  4. Keep the pipeline. Ask it to keep applicants in a Database table: name, role, score, stage, evidence. Open it in the table viewer as a kanban by stage and move cards as you decide.
  5. Accept the job. After a batch you trust, it proposes to score new applications as they arrive and to post a weekly shortlist to the hiring Space. It starts off; turn it on from its About tab.

What waits for your approval

Replying to an applicant, rejecting or advancing anyone in a connected system, sharing the shortlist beyond you, and changing a shared Database stop at an approval card. Reading applications and scoring them happen on their own.

Limits

  • Applicant-tracking systems such as Greenhouse, Lever, and Workable are not connected sources yet. Email, Drive, and a Database are.
  • A score is a ranking against your criteria, not a judgment of the person. It shows its evidence so you can disagree.
  • It reads what you can see. A colleague's mailbox is not visible to it unless shared.
  • It does not read LinkedIn profiles or run background checks.

Make it yours or share it

Notes on its About tab: "weight domain experience over years", "flag visa questions to me". Keep hiring in a Space so the shortlist, the discussion, and the Database stay together and reach current and future members. Share it from Settings → Access with hiring managers. Duplicate for a second role with different criteria.
